A great backyard should feel like more than unused space behind the house—it should become another place to live, gather, relax, and create memories. For this project, we transformed the backyard into a complete outdoor retreat by combining comfortable covered living areas, modern hardscape, low-maintenance landscaping, and a beautiful fireplace feature.

One of the main additions is the new patio cover, designed to extend the usable living space beyond the interior of the home. The covered patio provides generous shade while maintaining an open connection to the backyard. We incorporated ceiling fans and recessed lighting, making the area more comfortable during warm afternoons and creating the right atmosphere for evening dinners and gatherings.

Throughout the yard, new concrete surfaces and custom concrete pads give the landscape a clean and contemporary character. Instead of creating one large continuous concrete surface, sections of concrete were strategically separated with green turf. The combination introduces geometric lines and visual movement while softening the hardscape with natural-looking greenery.

The installation of lush artificial turf completely changes the character of the backyard. Its vibrant green finish provides a beautiful contrast against the neutral concrete while creating a low-maintenance open area that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Another highlight is the outdoor fireplace and entertainment area, which creates a natural gathering point within the landscape. It gives the backyard a sense of destination—a comfortable place where homeowners can sit with family and friends, enjoy an evening outdoors, or simply relax at the end of the day.

Multiple outdoor zones now work together as one cohesive design: a shaded dining area beneath the patio cover, an expansive turf area, contemporary concrete pathways and pads, and a dedicated fireplace space for entertaining.
